DISPOSITION
Disposition is the first step in the economic value equation, and limits the client’s risks and liabilities of electronic asset ownership. The process is defined by the Collection, Re-serialization, Test/Erasure, Documentation, Tear Down, and Segregation functions.
Data erasure is the critical function of the Disposition process. Data is not secure, and a client’s liability is not eliminated, if the data can be forensically retrieved using over-the-counter, or custom-written, software.
Nextuse LLC data erasure process is based on the current Department of Defense (DOD) 5220-22M requirements for the elimination of classified information. Under DOD 5220-22M guidelines, data is considered erased only if it cannot be forensically recovered using highly sophisticated retrieval techniques. The non-recovery standards of DOD 5220-22M are the most comprehensively defined standards for data erasure, and go beyond those currently issued or promulgated inferred or interpreted under the Federal Privacy Acts (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability (HIPPA); Gramm-Leach-Bliley). By basing its erasure process on the DOD’s non-recovery standard, NEXTUSE LLC offers clients the security of knowing that their hard drive data is being properly eliminated. Nextuse LLC data elimination processes configure to all operating systems, automatically verify data erasure, and generate hard drive-specific audit trails.
Nextuse LLC Disposition process is fully documented and visible to its clients. This comprehensive service works in concert with any internal security procedures a client has in place regarding an asset’s physical security, chain of custody tracking and detailed reporting.
RECYCLING
Assets with no secondary market value are recycled. Recycling electronic assets is a multi-step, multi-expertise process, as the different components and materials making up the asset (or sub-assemblies like a mother board) have to be destroyed and/or reclaimed in different ways in order to be done properly.
Nextuse LLC Recycling process is contracted through an experienced recycler who manages all aspects of the process directly (i.e., material acquisition, transportation, dismantling, subcontracted relationships and destruction), and has all permits necessary to transport and dispose of hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal waste. Nextuse LLC Recycling manager manages the recycling needs of several Fortune 500 companies, and maintains a network of contacts with other specialized recyclers.
NEXTUSE LLC policy requires that each primary and subcontracted Recycler relationship be certified for their respective specialty processes, and that they each meet or exceed State and Federal guidelines for their activities. NEXTUSE LLC also requires that no assets be exported as part of a Recycling solution. Certificates of Disposal are issued once material has been fully destroyed or recycled, with documentation regarding the quantity of materials, tracking numbers and date of destruction.
ASSET REPLACEMENT
Asset Replacement reduces a client’s investment in technology infrastructure and right-sizes functionality with organizational need. Clients have the option to upgrade technology infrastructure without the requirement to purchase new as part of a dedicated refresh process. Clients have secure access to NXU inventory through its web-based portal, or may place orders directly with NextUse for specific replacement assets. Asset Replacement creates a tactical option for NXU clients and extends technology budgets.

Life cycle management programs bundle Nextuse LLC products and services in to a comprehensive technology management discipline. Programs have multi-year terms and are customized to support a client’s global disposal strategy. Nextuse LLC customization process extends beyond its core expertise to include network relationships

TRANSPORTATION, LOGISTICS, PACKAGING
NEXTUSE LLC will arrange for the pick-up, packaging, and shipment of client assets through its transportation and logistics partners who together represent over 135 years experience in the containment, movement, custody and security of key assets. Our partners provide on-line point to point tracking technologies. If required size and tolerance-specific packaging can be created that protects the integrity and value of assets shipped. Nextuse LLC transportation and packaging backbone creates a global infrastructure for the secure shipment of one unit or ten thousand, and surrounds Nextuse LLC fully visible process with end to end (client – NEXTUSE LLC – final destination) security and efficiency.
